Haiku 5.5 pricing and the real cost of your workflow
A lower token price is a good reason to revisit an AI workflow’s budget. It is not enough to predict the bill.
Evidence key: Observed — the publication date the editorial source publishes for this article. It publishes no revision date for it.

Anthropic’s Haiku 5.5 launch makes that distinction especially useful. The model brings lower published rates, a pricing threshold at 100,000 prompt tokens, and a tokenizer that counts the same text differently from Haiku 4.5. For teams running classification, summarization, extraction, or narrowly scoped agent tasks, the opportunity is to measure how much a usable result now costs.
The practical answer: recount your real prompts, apply the correct pricing tier, and measure the full cost of accepted results—including retries, fallback models, and human review.
